Health & Safety Products
Our health and safety products are purpose designed to satisfy particular applications on commercial vehicles, and estate and hatchback cars, indeed any vehicle likely to be used by the tradesman or service/installation engineer where awkward loads or difficult lifts are involved and where risk of injury is possible. The use of these products helps to reduce the risk to an acceptable level.
Wherever it is proposed to use these products it is the responsibility of the user or their employer to carry out a Risk Assessment to satisfy Health and Safety legislation for the particular application on the vehicle in question.
Working at Height Regulations and Manual Handling Operations Regulations will need to be consulted for particular products. TrukRax products are designed to assist users to comply with regulations. Please see the diagram below for advice on handling weights.
THE SLIDE LOADER
Allows loading of a vehicle from the kerbside, at elbow/shoulder height (see lifting diagram at the top of the page). The lockable sliding skid system brings the roof rack to the load, rather than the operator having to lift the load on to the roof rack. This product is ideal where access to the rear of the vehicle may sometimes be restricted e.g. when street parking. It has the added safety feature where the load can only be accessed from the kerb side when the vehicle is correctly parked on the left.
THE UNDERSLUNG DROP DOWN LADDER
TrukRax have designed and developed this product to improve access to the roof of a vehicle. The Underslung Drop Down Access Ladder is stowed underneath the roof bars and offers all the benefits of a conventional door ladder, without any of the drawbacks!
THE HOOK-ON LADDER
A ladder that hooks on to the roof rack to give access to the vehicle's roof.
The ladder is angled making an easier climb than a vertical door ladder.
One handed grip can be used momentarily to aid loading the roof.
Stows inside the vehicle so no one can climb the ladder when the vehicle is unattended.
Higher residual vehicle value as the door does not have to be drilled and there is no wear and tear on the door hinges. No door distortion
Access to van and roof with ladder down. Door has to be closed with a door ladder. No fitting. Can be reused when the vehicle reaches the end of its service life.
THE REAR ROLLER
Using a roller to act as a pivot point will reduce the risks associated with loading heavy objects, such as ladders, on to the roof of a vehicle. Designed especially with the service engineer in mind, the roller at the rear of the vehicle can be deployed whilst loading/unloading and is available in a retractable format for vehicles with a tailgate.
WORKING PLATFORMS
TrukRax can supply you with a platform rack manufactured from waterproof marine ply, coated with a durable non-slip surface. The 150mm high kick plates and waist height 'fold-away' guardrails provide the operator with a safe working environment when working on top of a vehicle. When not in use, the guardrails can be folded flat. Turns your vehicles roof in to a working platform - Can save you time and money on expensive lift equipment.
BEACON BRACKETS
TrukRax manufacture a range of Beacon Brackets that can be easily fitted to TrukRax roof systems and fit most proprietary warning beacons of single and multiple light designs. The brackets can also be fitted to other makes of roof rack systems.
